You're speaking about a loud minority of Twitterati. There are unreasonable people and positions in the left spectrum.

You should be able to adapt to a more truthful retelling of American history without getting your panties in a bunch over the extremism of a few Twits on Twitter.

This is part of the conservative dogma of whataboutism that so many on the left really despise, including me. The extremism of some on the left is weaponized such that core historical truths are rejected on the basis of these extreme positions. It's dishonest debate.
