Your story made me thik of Lake Mead and voters in that part of the country who are turning a blind eye to it, and then it made me think of a great American childhood hero, Bugs Bunny.

I've told this story a couple times on Medium, but it bares repeating.

Bugs is in the caboose of a train looking out its window. He sees a train barrelling towards him on the same tracks. He looks at the camera wide-eyed, then reaches for the window shade of the caboose window and quickly snaps it shut. He looks into the camera again and gives it that great Bugs Bunny shrug.
