Your explanation is the only reasonable one to explain his cult. Early on, I think a lot of us tried like crazy (and I do mean, crazy, in that it has made so many of us crazy) to try and give the cult a break. That maybe it was something else.

But it just isn't.

The Predator in Chief didn't even pay his contractors, the kind of people who voted for him twice.

"What do you do for a living?"

"Well, I'm a painter."

"Well, you know if Trump hired you he wouldn't pay you, right?"

"That's just media lies and fake news."

But it's worse. There is now a racist news network that has the highest ratings in the country.

And everyone needs to ask themselves, do you use the products advertised on that network? Most of us do, so how do we fix that?
