You missed the point of the article. Are the actual methods used by the far-right American evangelists the same as the Taliban? No. But the consequences are as dire. They were responsible for electing Trump, the very essence of malfeasance, who in turn presided over half a million dead Americans with his science denying approach toward the pandemic, done with great applause from the right wing churches of America.
