Yes, very true. Texas in particular seems to be attracting libertarians from places like California, which is why Democrats can't seem to make any dents into the Republican hegemony there despite the changing demographics.

I'm not as sure what's wrong with Florida or why it's drifting to the right, aside, I guess, from the influence of its conservative Cuban diaspora.
