Wow, so that's how they get around the pre-existing condition thing, at least in your case. That's pretty evil.
Very sorry to see you having these struggles. Nobody should be paying that kind of monthly rate for insurance.
I have a friend who works as sort of a "freelance" doctor, meaning he bounces from system to system, and he says they're all terrible, but mostly made bad by the insurance industry, which basically tries to tell him what he can prescribe and what kind of treatment plans he should establish for patients.
The systems treat him much like they do traveling nurses, but he prefers it over working within one system, partly, he says, because here in Georgia, they're all managed so badly that he'd rather get a mix of different kinds of bad.
Trying to give patients care on his terms is almost impossible. The system needs to be done away with entirely.
