Wow did you nail it. And it's awesome to see someone read about the New Deal's art stuff.

I wrote about this some time ago:

https://medium.com/ruminato/how-biden-and-democrats-can-win-rural-voters-6361264853e7#bfac

To summarize:

In 1935, the federal government, in order to foster a decent living wage for creative people, invested $27 million to employ artists, musicians, actors, and writers under something called the WPA’s Federal Project Number One. [6]

It employed 40,000 of them.

$27 million was a lot of money in those days.

There is no reason we can't push Biden into this direction. He seems like a pretty good guy. Reasonable. Willing to listen. We are just so used to the craven personality that was Trump that we assume that because Biden hasn't proposed something, he won't.

Culture is an integral part of any decent civilization. As you obviously know.

And here's another thing. A lot of people my age dump on people your age for complaining.

Well, guess how much college cost me at a decent state university. $380 for a semester's tuition. That same school costs $16,000 today. Plus, I easily got myself a Pell Grant. I could work at the local supermarket during the summer and pay for college the next semester.

Older people need to get off their ass and stop bitching about younger people. We had it much better. Our cars tended to die at intersections, but we didn't have take a loan the equivalent of mortgages to buy them. Good factory jobs could sustain a family of four. I could go on and on about this.

Great article. Keep fighting.
