When I voted for Bernie the first time, it counted for sure. I thought he was going to win. But he got creamed in the South. I mean, he didn’t just lose, he lost badly, and it wasn’t to a smoky room. I can’t remember where he stood in Texas when I voted for him the second time, but he was dealing with the same issue. He wasn’t winning in the South. The reason Clayburn supported Biden was because he liked Biden. It really was that simple.
Progressives need to get out and vote more. They don’t do it. I’ve been complaining about it for 30 years, and now, this is what we have.
It’s not a generational thing or any of that. It’s the simple fact that progressives tend to join causes and push for things but they don’t bother voting in local elections. Republicans, meantime, flock to the polls and vote in state legislature elections so that they can destroy the country one state at at a time.
Fun stuff.
