Well, yeah, Ukraine is destined to become Greece 2.0, or Italy 6.0, or whatever.
All part of a larger problem, which is late stage capitalism's grip on world economies.
Out of the two terrible choices, I'd still have to choose corporate imperialism over Putin's sadistic imperialism.
But it's sort of like choosing between two bullies based on whether the stick they use is the Walking Dead's Negan and his Lucy bat or the slower roll of ubercapitalists owning the means of production.
The problem with Russia is that they have the worst of both worlds. Russians have to cope with a tiny oligarchy of ubercapitalists who are all beholden to a sadistic megalomaniac. U.S. voters are looking into the possibility of making that same choice, which is kind of cute.
I doubt Zelensky is particularly happy with the choices presented to him. But, as they say inside the prisons of the world, "It is what it is."
