Welcome to the world of ranters! I've been doing this since I first joined Medium a few years ago.

This means that my Medium writing gets right into the face of many people in my demographic. Statistics show that the majority of white people, not just old white people like me, but ALL white people, voted for Trump in the last election, which means they are at least passively engaged in racism.

I'd be very honored if I met your husband, just like I am when I meet others like him. They're the ones that make our country great, not people in my demographic, who want to tear it all down.

After the 2020 election, people like me were told to be nice towards those who want to betray the cause of human decency. I tried this for awhile, but the other side just keeps digging in.

What we've discovered under Trump is that he's the symptom of a larger disease that results in the kind of bullying your son experienced.

The only way to fight it is to fight it. I won't be quiet about it until it ends, or until it finishes me somehow.
