But in all seriousness, I've written here a few times about how the patriarchy destroyed women's roles in the Christian church.
Very few people are aware that early churches were typically run by women in their homes. And of course, one of the apostles, Mary Magdalene, was Jesus's favored apostle to such an extent that it was she he chose to visit first upon his resurrection (even if you aren't a believer, the point is still valid regarding how the importance of that part of the story was suppressed). There are many other stories about the importance of females during Christ's time, but most of that, including Mary's status as an apostle, has been shut down by male scribes. Male scribes also withdrew the very notion of magic in Christianity, which is a shame since Jesus used it all the time, and encouraged his apostles to do so, too.
I suspect, too, that the Gospel of Mary was vandalized by male church leaders. If women had maintained their roles as leaders in the early church, we'd live in a very different world.
