We actually had gun laws not that long ago that banned assault weapons. Today, there's no stomach for it. And, frankly, it's not like young people are voting in enough numbers to swing things back from our current right-wing political climate.

Banning assault weapons and high capacity magazines shouldn't even be debated. The stats make the problem obvious. Nobody needs an AR-15.

Not even home defenders. If you need a gun, get some buckshot and an old-fashioned shotgun. Nobody will get through your door without getting plugged full of holes.
