Viktor Orban's huge win in Hungary made me wonder if most of the people in the world just really prefer authoritarianism. Of course, Orban's Hungary is not officially authoritarian. But he plays patty cake with Putin and has all the nationalist creds you'd want in a fledgling authoritarian.
Even in the U.S., 40% of the country seems to still have a hankering for the orange puffaroon, despite all we know about him.
The Russian people play dumb and act like they don't know what's going on with Putin, which is bullshit. They all have had access to the internet for the last 30 years. They just love Putin, who false flagged his way into the Chechnyan conflagration and hasn't looked back since:
