Today? No. In 2024? Very possible. Especially considering what the Biden agenda seems to be. Kamala will have established enough familiarity in that time that most people won’t pay much attention to her identity.

Biden is aiming hard directly at Trump supporters. It’s as if his team has decided that they aren’t going to risk not being able to beat back all the voter suppression efforts by states with republican majorities and so they’re targeting his voters with actual policy.

I do think your warnings about the type of politicians Republicans will be churning out over the next few years are legitimate. Another monster could emerge from the cesspool. That’s one reason that the makeup of Biden’s agenda is so important.

Mobilizing against extremists is also important. No local electoral races should be conceded. One Marjorie Taylor Greene is one too many (Google “crazy georgia representative” and note what is at the top of the list to understand her vulnerability, even in her district).

I have a more optimistic outlook. I think the Republicans are digging a political grave by betting on this fool. He has a massive debt bill coming due, is staring down multiple investigations, and I suspect there are more than a few women ready to hit him again with harassment lawsuits. I mean, the pool of the former Predator in Chief’s victims is pretty large.

Overall, if Republicans are hell bent on destroying their party by nominating nut cases, I’m in favor of it. The party lost its way long before Trump. Let it die. Maybe a new centrist party will emerge from its ashes in a few years.

That’s not a dismissal of your warnings. The warning is legit. I just have a more optimistic view.
