To answer your subititle: No.
I've been watching Bernie since he won his first congressional seat in Vermont. When he won a Senate seat I wanted to move to Vermont. For him and the ice cream.
But Bernie isn't a Democrat. He would like to be, but the Democratic Party he wants to be part of got burned up by Clintonomics, which abandoned the middle and working class in favor of the tech industry and, later, corporate interests.
Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer are all aboard the Clintonomics train. Pelosi, even though she is disliked, is a legislative maestro. She got stuff through the House when Trump was in office that nobody else could have. But Schumer is worthless, and there are VERY few Democrats who are willing to let go of Clinton-era economics.
In a perfect world there'd be a new, progressive party, but that of course would hand all the keys to Republicans, which wouldn't have been a terrible thing during the Nixon era (he started the EPA and proposed national healthcare).
But in today's times, well, we are truly about six months away from fascism. But the ugly truth is people just don't care. So they'll vote for Republicans so that they can fill their gas guzzling SUVs for under $5/gallon, because once a Republican wins the Presidency, gas prices will mysteriously go down.
