This resonates.

I've written and read since I was in grade school, but I didn't write professionally because I did other things. Did art direction and graphic design, then went into software. These things paid a lot better.

I'm not great at managing money, so I don't have enough to "retire" on comfortably, but I'm writing now pretty much writing full time, anyway.

I'm in my 60s, so I obviously don't think there is any age that is too old for being a writer. It's what we have to say that counts. And with so many things going into the shitter right now around us, I'll be damned if I'm gonna keep quiet about it.
