This is a really good summary!

I wrote one episode for a new series that I have been thinking about that is loosely associated with my debut novel.

I'm thinking it is not the medium for me, but your stated reasons actually support my thinking.

For one thing, I'm wrapping up work on a second novel, but I don't want to really expose it to the public just yet (I've issued a few minor beta releases through private channels).

When I released my one episode and it finally went live, I saw that what most authors are doing is releasing a whole BUNCH of episodes at once. That's the way to go, not the way I did it. Not surprisingly, mine has gained no traction. The ones that are "trending" have multiple episodes.

So for now, I'll hold off, because I'm not ready to bang out a bunch of episodes - but I do think it's an excellent opportunity for new writers, especially unpublished, to gain some traction.
