They are mostly centrists who for whatever reason are not willing to vote Democrat. Call it Bernie Fear - afraid that Democrats will swing too far to the left.

In their minds, Biden is already heading that way, too influenced by the Left.

So these folks will take shelter in a new centrist party, and may even bring corporate Democrats (aka neoliberals) with them.
