The weird thing about this essay is that I have no argument with any of it, but I still need to know definitively about Joe's condition.

It's also not about fairness. If it was about fairness, Republicans wouldn't have nominated Trump the first time, much less a second.

Let's see how he does in his rehab attempt, starting with the upcoming ABC interview.

He could have avoided all this by sticking to his original plan of being a one term president and retiring triumphantly into the sunset, and opening the succession process up to others.

It seems wrong that Democrats have to live up to a double standard, because it is wrong. But it's also how things work when only one political party is functional.
