The United States is guilty of horrible foreign policy, for sure, and I don't mean by any means to demean your point of view.
It is hard headed of us as Americans to yell at Russia for invading a sovereign nation when we did the same thing to Iraq. We destroyed that country. We invaded on false pretenses. At least half a million people died, cities were vanquished, because of our actions.
The U.S. has a history of awful foreign policy. Its policy towards Latin America could send me on a rant until next week. Same with the Middle East.
The NATO argument is a legitimate one for consideration, but I think in a broader context. My biggest concern about it is that it gives Putin, who is a sociopath, cover.
I love the idea of introspection regarding U.S. foreign policy. I just think there are better targets, like the Middle East, Vietnam, and Latin America.
I always enjoy your writing, so I appreciate the interaction here. Write on!
