The really nefarious aspect of DeSantis versus Trump, who was (I prefer to speak of him in the past tense, hoping the universe gets the hint) a poster child of incompetence, is that the College Board, without any direct prompting, is whitewashing its curriculum to match DeSantis's goals:

DeSantis is what Trump wanted to be. DeSantis won't piss off his law enforcement and security chiefs. They'll be with him all the way. And, he's got a bunch of Trump judges to help clear the way, as you mention in the final paragraphs.
