The problem with a story like this is that it implies a flaw in ethnicity, whereas in reality, if the trait is there, it is driven by years of autocracy.

If you live in a society where you can be put in a gulag for admitting to a mistake, you won't admit to a mistake. It's easier to point the finger at the other guy. The end result in a rigid autocracy is that nobody admits to mistakes. If you worked for Trump or Elon Musk, would you admit to a mistake? Hell no.

I would also argue that the very dissolution of the Soviet Union was an admission on. a grand scale that a big mistake was made. So it can't be an ethnic trait. Russian literature also contains plenty of introspection.

I also haven't noticed these traits in any Russians I've worked with here in the states. In fact, my experience has been the opposite - the ones I've known were self critical to a fault. I typically work with software types, and Russians are meticulous and have high standards, but for themselves as much as anyone else. I'll admit to limited experience there, a small sample size, but enough to justify my statement.

The fall of the country to Putin has been incredibly tragic to all of Eastern Europe. And, worse, he's normalizing lies and hatred in a way that our own orange cancer was trying to emulate.

This would be a better article if the title was something like, "Ready for another round of Trump? Here is your future."
