I wish Americans would learn to celebrate divirsity instead of trying to tamp it down. I'm not a fan of homogenized culture, so yes on that big time.
I tend to agree with you about ownership of hairstyles and makeup choices, but I just think that overall, on both sides of the issue, we have an all hands on deck situation regarding the current surge in Christo-nationalism in the U.S., and arguing over makeup choices is a waste of breath. I wish we had that luxury. And, as I said in my comment, it's not for me to tell Black folks how they should feel. It's always better to err on the side of too much empathy, rather than the opposite.
