The Colored People of the Revolution is pretty interesting. I sure never heard of it until recently. Not exactly taught in the public school system.

I had to do a lot of research for a novel I'm writing. I learned an awful lot, including the fact that there were some northern states that were dominated by slaves from a demographic standpoint. They dominated some of the ports, too. A change here or a bit of luck there, and they could have found a way to a true slave revolt.

There was an awful lot that took place that we simply don't hear about. The science of rice for example, that was brought in by West Africans, the large number of homes and other structures that were built by Black slaves, Thomas Jefferson's nailry, where he put nine year old boys to work as slaves. The list is unbelievably large.
