That's why a person's first instinct when, for example, an earthquake hits, is to help people. If you have time to think about things, that's when we begin to reconsider our options. But during traumatic events, we don't have time to think, and our helpful selves take over. There are people, in my opinion, who are born without souls, neither good nor evil, like animals, who will help or not help depending on their mood, or, like Putin, who vicously attack without remorse.

In A Course in Miracles, if you believe it was channeled through Jesus, he says the same thing you do, basically, that "evil" is just the voices of our ego.
