That's very decent of you not to name names. There's always reviews for that, but in this case it would feel like an attack and might even be misinterpreted as such, which wouldn't be fair to you.

I know it's expensive, but one way for self-published authors to get a fair assessment of their book is to purchase a Kirkus Review.

Kirkus has a good rep in the publishing industry because they will provide an honest review. If it's a bad review, you can choose to not have it published on the Kirkus site. But also if it's bad, you'll know why.

I should note that a bad Kirkus review does not mean you wrote a bad book. It means the person who reviewed it didn't like it. But it is probably going to be useful feedback.

And a good review is a nice thing for pull quotes in marketing. :-)
