That is so depressing but thanks for writing it up.
I never visited El Paso while I lived in Texas, and you really make it sound like an appealing place (well, pre-covid, anyway).
But I've been around enough of Texas to truly not understand what so many white Texans are concerned about regarding people of color.
If you think about it, it is a bit psychotic to be at all concerned about the impact of humans based on their pigmentation.
And in Texas, any medium sized town already looks like a United Nations commissary. Whatever they are afraid of has already happened. The ship has sailed.
