Thanks. They are both interesting articles. I'm familiar with the discovery of older galaxies that are near the stated "starting point" of the big bang, which is flummoxing cosmologists, but overall I'd argue that cosmology is still all guesswork anyway.

I'm still not really understanding the snark of the original comment though. It just seemed to me that the author was merely celebrating the accomplishments of the James Webb telescope. I didn't really notice that he was opining on the nature of light.

Thanks for the links, though. I've always been curious about the way the big bang was supposedly measured because it seemed like it was treated as though we are at the center of the universe, whereas it is impossible to know where we are in relation to anything else. But I'm no physicist, and, like I said, cosmology seems like mostly guesswork to me.
