Thanks! I think they also took away the membership bonuses, which was just a flagrant pay cut. They didn't take away existing membership bonuses, but I think I saw they are no longer rewarding new signups. A lot of my traffic comes from outside Medium. So whatever the motivation (company is dying or just being asses), I don't appreciate the pay cut.
