Thanks. I guess I just don't feel compelled to "evangelize." We all have our own personal experiences with the universe.

For me to insist that you should experience yours as I have experienced mine would be bizarre and actually quite impossible. I believe that arguments over God or the nature of the universe between strangers is a ludicrous proposition, in general. Between friends, it can be done over a few drinks, with the end result of moving on after a few laughs and the realization that the attempt was an exercise in futility.

As for what happens in this world, I don't try to explain that, either, other than to say that I don't try to conflate god with science. Let's say a father drives his young teenage daughter to downtown Chicago to take a test and, while waiting for her to finish, is impaled by ice falling from a skyscraper. If I believe that is an act of God, instead of the science of ice melting, I'd go insane.

But then we have Neill Blomkamp, director of District 9, who might offer the act of God view. This little short (3 minutes) movie is a favorite of mine, and I doubt religious nuts like it much. Too bad— it's a lot of fun:
