Thanks. I don't think it's because I'm particularly enlightened compared to others. I just really liked my friend. When you are good friends with someone, you notice things. It obviously helped my general attitude later, though. As a white guy I know I have old tapes playing in my head, still even 40 years later. A lot of whites wlll say they don't, but that's like saying we didn't grow up with or around racists, and sadly, we all did.
