Thanks for the grim news, I guess? I've been reading too many of these reports lately. Greenland is becoming a haven for rare earth miners, and the Siberian tundra is blasting methane gas into the air.

It seems like, if anything, climate science models have underestimated, rather than overestimated, the effects of climate change.

I think the models did not properly account for the warmer currents under the Antarctic ice.

The news headlines are about heat waves, but we could conceivably return to normal temps in much of the world for a few years after El Nino while the warmer ocean currents hammer the Antarctic ice shelf. While people sleep in the somewhat cooler weather, the Antarctic ice will still be melting.

I think we are also seeing increased nitrogen levels in ocean waters (honestly, I haven't researched this), if the huge algae blooms in Florida and other realms are any indication.

It seems like the world's industrial economies are unlikely to do anything until an irreversible crisis occurs.
