Thanks for the great comment. I guess I'd argue that the goals of both are very much the same.

"We believe that our salvation lies not in our own efforts or spiritual growth, but in surrendering to the will of Allah."

I think ACIM very much guides us away from the "Self." I probably didn't do a great job of explaining that.

I'd also argue that if you were to have a personal conversation with Allah, he would ask you to fulfill your surrender to Allah by offering forgiveness for all the wrongs afforded you. I would even suggest that applying forgiveness is an absolute surrender.

I am not versed in the Quran, of course, but I don't believe in a God who punishes based on religious testament, whether they're Christians who don't "quite get it right," or Jews, or Muslims, or Hindi.

God is happy to have us all in his embrace.
