I really was curious what people would say after reading an argument or two that pushed back on it.

If you look at the comments in this article, it's clear he has really charged up the base, which, as you point out, has grown tired of the quiet response.

For me, it's a tough one, because the state he delivered the speech in is in a Senatorial race where the Dem is actually reaching into the Trump voting bloc and scoring a few. So I would have liked it if Biden had just been a bit more nuanced by specifically targeting the activists in the MAGA camp, and not Joe Plumber who probably reads about politics once every two years for about 30 seconds.
