I find it, as an infographic, quite useful in demonstrating how rural voters vote. If you look at the Rio Grande valley, you'll see a lot of blue, even though much of it is sparsely populated.
Democrats who persistently ignore the rural vote will be staring at their TVs late at night during every election, hoping for that nailbiter election to swing their way based on one or two states.
This is a very dangerous proposition when, as it appears likely, the next Republican presidential candidate is Trump again. He's ready to deliver a fatal blow to the nation. I'm not sure Democrats have the stomach for the battle ahead. He wants to tear up everything (read about Steve Bannon's plans for the country, since Trump's declarations mimic them almost verbatim).
Winning back the rural vote should really not be so difficult. Their problems are the same as other areas hit by grinding poverty. The infographic is a useful way to communicate the dire straits the party is in.
