I don't really care whether you are a republican, a libertarian, or something else.

My point is that the country has veered hard towards the right during the last 40 years.

Republicans from the 1970s would be called socialists today.

Can you imagine a Republican president proposing a national health care plan like Nixon did? Or imposing wage and price controls?
