Thanks for reading. I'll always argue that those atheists who are the most virulent anti-Christians (which is no better than being anti-Muslim or anti-Jewish) haven't bothered to really dig into the genuine teachings of Jesus.
The people who sit with Bibles on their laps and ranting at the TV while watching Fox News are not Christians. They're apostates - if we must give them a label.
Most of my other writing on Christianity addresses these hypocrisies more directly.
I don't have anything against atheists in general - a large majority of them are much more spiritual than the average Christian - only those who belittle and verbally maim all Christians as a group.
Fundamentalists and evangelists have gained the upper hand in this country, but there is a strong leftist Christian movement beginning to grow, and it is worth nurturing because it is a fundamental resistance to fundamentalism.
Fundamentalism is itself a misnomer, because it implies that fundamentalists teach, well, fundamental Christianity, which they do not. They teach about an angry God, which is false teaching.
