Thanks, Fay. I definitely don't think your point is simplistic. I consider your observations very nuanced, and I don't really disagree with the heart of it. Democrats need to figure out the economic angle or they are toast (now that is MY simplistic take on it!).
Much of it is about perception, too. Most voters want the items in both the social spending and infrastructure bills. They aren't as interested in whether the novel Beloved is allowed as part of the curriculum.
What Democrats don't seem to understand is that if they take care of the needs of people on the economic front and focus on that with their messaging, they won't need to worry about things like school curriculums, because they'll be running the show.
