Thanks again, Steve. I grew up in Chicago and although vernacular has changed, I still can’t imagine saying it. Anyway, by no means do I mean to disparage your overall points. Definitely not my intent. I can’t offer an opinion on that because I’m not a Black man who’s had to deal with all the BS. But from the perspective of a white person, it seems some kinds of comments ought to be obvious to refrain from.

Of course, some of this also relates to a larger problem in society we seem to be facing. There seems to be a rash of confrontations and whining overall, among everyone. When I got vaccinated, the lady behind me was yelling at the VOLUNTEERS who were struggling to get things organized in the middle of a sudden rainstorm (there was a short line outside of the clinic). I live in a pretty mixed neighborhood but I think everyone involved was white — I know for sure the complaining lady was.

Sometimes I just want to write a Medium post titled, “Stop whining.” :-)

And I hate to say this, but that does seem to be more of a white thing.
