Thank you for writing this. Now if you could get some of your Republican colleagues to help spread these words, maybe we could get somewhere.

It will be interesting to see what the next Congress does about some of the larger issues that have led to our current condition.

How do you propose that we deal with the dissemination of falsehoods? Are you really comfortable with Facebook, Amazon's, and Google's power to squash the voices of people like Trump?

I do believe they needed to shut him up as an emergency measure, but what about long term? They basically have the power of censorship. What is the long term solution that both helps deny the spread of lies but doesn't leave the decision making in the hands of a few people and/or corporations?

Is there a way to re-impose a Fairness Doctrine on broadcasters? Is there a way to implement it online? Or is there some other way to adjudicate news?

Is there a way to establish adjudication without involving government, where there is an obvious conflict of interest?

These are questions you'll need to ask yourselves as legislators, whether you want to or not.

This situation didn't just happen overnight. It's been building for a long time.

As a nation, we tend to put bandaids over our wounds. This is one wound that requires major surgery.

I don't think any of us know what the solutions are, but we need to start exploring them.
