Texas is a pretty awful place. The cities are nice but Abbott is at war with the cities.

If you want to escape Texas by car you have to drive several hours through dusty, flat land.

I think the Texas pride comes from ranch living. There is still a cowboy mentality. But not many actual cowboys.
