SNL has always been pretty uneven, but that's part of its magic. The current two news guys, Jost and Che, are the best they've ever had in my opinion. I love the way they seem so shocked by the other's headline punchline. Maybe they really are -- maybe it's the first time they heard it, but either way, they are a blast.
Kate McKinnon was ridiculously amazing. I'll miss her but she was fading off last year anyway. I don't know the guy's name, but the one who played Eric Trump is worth hitting up YouTube just to watch his expressions of cluelessness.
There are lots of other examples. I don't know who the boomers are who are ripping the show, but this boomer still likes it.
The new crew will be probably struggle a bit, but so far it seems pretty good. But it does takes time to gel, so anyone who isn't liking it should be patient.
I will say that putting everyone in the same basket isn't a good look. It's as bad as any other stereotyping. As an old fart, I object to ageism.
