Small technical detail: Cloudflare doesn't act as a hosting provider for an organization's servers. It's a web security provider. It has become nearly ubiquitous in the web world, so when you lose access to its services, it can become easier to hack into your site.

The reason this matters is because when Cloudflare severs its relationship with a hate site, they are NOT impacting their free speech. They are simply declaring that they have a terms of service that must be adhered to. Promoting crime (Kiwi swatted Clara Sorrenti, a transgender influencer) would fall into the types of behaviors that most companies would, one would hope, use as a criteria for banishment.

The EFF is wrong in opposing this. The haters can still hate. They just have to find a new way to lock down their site.
