" Racists beget racists."

Not necessarily. I've seen lots of younger people roll their eyes when their parents make stupid comments. I'm sure you have, too.

My parents were racists. I'm not. I do have my prejudices, still. They're pretty baked in so I overcompensate by writing a lot about the sickness of racism and what white folks can do to stop it.

I even got an email from Medium calling me a top writer on Racism, which is crazy because I don't really think a white dude should be called that, simply because I can't know the experience of people of color. I can empathize, but not truly understand what they go through.

So I will argue that the reason for the current backlash is because the racists see the writing on the wall.

They know America has permanently changed, and can never go back to its former, primitive self.

I don't mean to push back on the concept that racists who teach their immorality to their children have an impact. They do. But kids these days are more influenced by other factors. There are young racists, of course, but they seem like the extreme kind, the loud kind, the scary kind. Most kids just roll their eyes at racists, homophobes, etc.
