ProPublica is somehow managing to survive in this muck, but not in a way that in any way suggests you're not 100% right.

They're really just an exception to the rule. They serve a niche market of policy nerds and reformed New Yorker readers. They also contribute mightily to local journalism outlets, which is a strong reason to support them.

But, yeah. 100% on this.
