"Profits over people"

Agree all the way. Americans seem to have an either or attitude. They can't grasp that going after the wealthiest will not hurt their own chances of being successful business people themselves (it would actually help them).

The people over profits thing is also why I brought up the revolutionary war. The monied class got on board with it because the Brits were making noises about emancipation and large scale manumission. That was a big no-no.

Most people are not aware of the high level of British loyalsist support in the early going.

There's a fiction novel in there somewhere, and it's almost done.
