Peet's was actually the precursor to Starbucks. The founders split and went their own way, one to start Starbucks, and the other continuing on with Peets. I think they had some differences of opinion about what direction to go in. I used to know the story, but it fell out of my feeble memory.
It's fantastic. I'm surprised they've been able to maintain quality after moving into supermarket distribution. Somehow, they have.
I used to frequent the first Peet's coffee house in Berkeley, CA. That's where I discovered the stuff. Been hooked ever since. I can even find it now in Atlanta, where I currently live. So I assume it's available where you are, too.
When you smell it, I swear you'll never buy another kind of coffee.
