Obviously, I've never had postpartum depression.

However, when my son was a tiny tot, I was always freaked out anytime danger was anywhere near. Poor kid had to hold my hand if we were within 500 yards of traffic.

To this day, when I see parents pulling those yellow kiddy cabs behind their bicycles in traffic, I want to run to them, knock them off their bikes, and take their kids to safety. But I'd be arrested for kidnapping, so I don't.
