No, you're not a terrorist.

But there are strong arguments against sabotage.

1) You'll be called a terrorist (part of the backfire argument).

2) Violence begets violence. Today, someone might blow up a remote segment of pipeline and nobody gets hurt. Tomorrow, a copy cat might do something much worse., something that kills a lot of people. So maybe YOU don't kill anyone, but someone under YOUR banner might. And there's nothing you can do about it.

3) A pipeline sabotage would also be bad for the environment. In some cases, depending on the nature of the pipeline, it could lead to death and injury through noxious fumes or runoff. Unless the saboteur has intimate knowledge of the physical and chemical characteristics of the pipeline (and what are the chances?), they risk lives with any sabotage.

4) The example of France is kind of bogus because that was a war. You could argue that the fight for climate change is war, but then we can make that same case for other causes. Right wingers have used that argument for years to kill abortion providers.

Interesting side note: part of the reason Putin is having so many problems with his war is that Belorussians are sabotaging Russian supply lines out of Belarus. Good stuff there.

There's a better solution, but I don't see a lot of young people interested in much more than what's on their phones. The solution is to win local elections. Go to any city council or school board meeting and all you see is old farts with bubble tummies and screaming old women yelling about CRT. Disclaimer: I get to say "old farts" because I'm an old fart.

I empathize at all levels with this post. I'm simply presenting an argument against sabotage that should be considered.

At the end of the day, in a right wing country like America, the first reason really should be enough to give you pause. There's no way you can convince the population of a country where even small rural counties have SWAT weaponry and armored personnel carriers that you're NOT a terrorist if you blow up a pipeline. That's the sad truth about the state of America today.
