My approach has simply been not to worry about trying to game the system. I'll continue to comment on other articles, partly because it helps raise my visibility, but mostly because I think commenting shows a genuine interest in what others are saying. If I don't have anything to say, of course, then I just clap.
But I'm under the impression that multiple claps also trigger rate limit algorithms. I may be mistaken on this.
So for me, I just focus on my writing quality. If people read it, great. If not, I need to find out why (sometimes it's just visibility, sometimes I just didn't write an article that connects).
